Torn Meniscus

Meniscus tears usually take place when an athlete twists or turns their upper leg while their foot is planted and their knee is bent.

Symptoms of a meniscus tear may be different for each person, but some of the most common symptoms are:

. Pain in the knee joint: usually on the inside (medial), outside (lateral) or back
. Swelling
. Catching or locking of the knee joint
. Inability to fully extend or bend the knee joint
. Limping

The symptoms of a meniscus tear are similar to other medical conditions or problems. Always see your health care provider for a diagnosis.

Will a torn meniscus eventually heal on its own?

Yes, some meniscus tears can heal on their own. Perhaps even more important, even if a meniscus tear doesn’t heal, many tears will stop hurting if treated without surgery.

Can you walk around with a torn meniscus?

A torn meniscus usually produces well-localized pain in the knee. The pain often is worse during twisting or squatting motions.

Conservative treatment — such as rest, ice and medication — is sometimes enough to relieve the pain of a torn meniscus and give the injury time to heal on its own. In other cases, however, a torn meniscus requires surgical repair.

This Month’s Project – Helping Hands

Community Outreach

This month for giving back we chose to do a food drive donation to Helping Hands!

Helping Hands is a nonprofit organization that administers food to local families in need throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Our company and team members came together which resulted in a car load worth of food. We each contributed a little, but together, a huge impact was made. The leaders of the organization were surprised and grateful when seeing all of the non-perishables we brought.

Helping Hands is very thankful because our contribution will allow them to be able to deliver more food and be a blessing to our local community.
