This program can help a wide range of people from geriatrics to athletes. We can work on fall prevention for the geriatric population and even perform running analysis utilizing videos for the athletic population.

Feel free to call us today if you would like a no-charge consultation to assess your balance or gait. We are happy to help anyway that we can!

New Chiropractor Added to Staff

We are excited to announce this month that we have a new doctor joining our team! Dr. Deric Lovett is a chiropractor and will be our newest addition to the AMF family! He will bring many unique skills including some treatments that we have never been able to offer at AMF before…stay tuned for details!

Dr Derik Lovett

Chiropractic care is a form of alternative medicine mostly concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine.

Chiropractors treatment consists of a spinal manipulation, sometimes referred to as a chiropractic adjustment. The purpose of a spinal manipulation is to restore joint mobility by applying a controlled force into the joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement and possibly pinching a nerve – as a result of a tissue injury or poor posture/ergonomics.

Torn Meniscus

Meniscus tears usually take place when an athlete twists or turns their upper leg while their foot is planted and their knee is bent.

runner with pain

Symptoms of a meniscus tear may be different for each person, but some of the most common symptoms are:

. Pain in the knee joint: usually on the inside (medial), outside (lateral) or back
. Swelling
. Catching or locking of the knee joint
. Inability to fully extend or bend the knee joint
. Limping

The symptoms of a meniscus tear are similar to other medical conditions or problems. Always see your health care provider for a diagnosis.

Will a torn meniscus eventually heal on its own?

Yes, some meniscus tears can heal on their own. Perhaps even more important, even if a meniscus tear doesn’t heal, many tears will stop hurting if treated without surgery.

Can you walk around with a torn meniscus?

A torn meniscus usually produces well-localized pain in the knee. The pain often is worse during twisting or squatting motions.

Conservative treatment — such as rest, ice and medication — is sometimes enough to relieve the pain of a torn meniscus and give the injury time to heal on its own. In other cases, however, a torn meniscus requires surgical repair.

At Advanced Medical of Florida, we have had great success threating without surgery, Our Doctors of Physical Therapy and their team will work with you to help strengthen, rebalance and restore your joints. This allows you to regain significant strength and functionality with decreased pain.

We treated many professional athletes from different teams here in the Tampa Bay area. Do you want to have the condition treated and avoid surgery? Why not come in for a consultation today.

Helping Hands is a nonprofit organization that administers food to local families in need throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Our company and team members came together which resulted in a car load worth of food. We each contributed a little, but together, a huge impact was made. The leaders of the organization were surprised and grateful when seeing all of the non-perishables we brought.

Helping Hands is very thankful because our contribution will allow them to be able to deliver more food and be a blessing to our local community.

If you want to learn more about Helping Hands then feel free to visit their Facebook page in the link below.

What To Do If You Have a Car Accident?

What to Do If There Is an Accident

auto accident

Call 911 if there are injuries.
Call the police. …
Obtain names, addresses, telephone numbers, and driver’s license numbers from all drivers.
Obtain license plate(s) and vehicle identification numbers. …
Obtain names, addresses, and telephone numbers of other passengers and any witnesses.

Even if there are no serious injuries, it is a good idea to call the police. You may need a police report to file a claim with your insurance company, even if it is just to make a claim for damage to your vehicle. The vehicles involved in the accident should remain where they are, unless they interfere with traffic.

How does insurance work after a car accident?

To use car insurance, you’ll have to file a claim after you’ve been in an accident or your vehicle has otherwise been damaged. If another driver caused the accident, then their insurance will cover your expenses. … So, even in no-fault states, the at-fault driver’s insurance will pay for your vehicle repairs.

When it comes to treatment for injuries sustained from car accidents, it is best to receive care with doctors who are not only experienced in providing you the best outcome but also have experience in detailed record keeping to accurately document your case.

The best place to go for auto accident treatments is to a multi-specialty clinic like ours. Our doctors can do anything from prescribe imaging like MRIs, perform injections, and even do concussion rehab. Please allow us to evaluate you to make sure you don’t have whiplash or other injuries that could lead to a long term problem.

Corporate Healthcare

At Advanced Medical of Florida, our team of physicians and qualified staff look forward to helping your corporation take care of your employees.

corporate health

Our purpose is to educate your employees about health matters and concerns. We conduct workshops that gives your corporation factual and usable information on the causes of stress and how to combat those causes. Our exciting workshops or health fairs will give your company the various solutions to maintain optimal health and high productivity.

Lost Productivity: The price tag of staff who ignore health problems!

According to the results of a recent survey published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, working through pain is actually more costly than if you had missed work to get your problem handled.

Some area that we address in our workshops:

Ergonomic Posture and Balance: This uncovers the hidden reason why so many people suffer from back pain, neck pain, and headaches. This station can determine if your pain is coming from muscle, joint or nerve.

Blood Pressure and Stress Survey: This station combines blood pressure with a Stress Survey to evaluate if the effects of stress are producing negative effects on your body, this uncovers why Stress is known as the Silent Killer.

Percent of Body Fat: This station gives an accurate reading of the person’s percent of body fat. This test coupled with our blood test stations can uncover if the employee is headed for heart disease and/or diabetes.

Blood Work Station: This station evaluates two key blood components, Cholesterol, and Glucose. These two tests can give great insight as to how your health is and where it is headed.

Relaxation Station: Relaxing massage and an ergonomic posture check make up a very popular mini Health Fair event. After your posture check, we would suggest some posture exercises that can be done to fight pain and fatigue right at your work station.
